55. Ar-Rahman

يُعْرَفُWill be knownٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminalsبِسِيمَٰهُمْby their marksفَيُؤْخَذُand will be seizedبِٱلنَّوَٰصِىby the forelocksوَٱلْأَقْدَامِand the feet﴿٤١﴾

The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٤٢﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

هَٰذِهِۦThisجَهَنَّمُ(is) Hellٱلَّتِىwhichيُكَذِّبُdenyبِهَا[of it]ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَthe criminals﴿٤٣﴾

This is Hell, which the criminals deny

يَطُوفُونَThey will go aroundبَيْنَهَاbetween itوَبَيْنَand betweenحَمِيمٍscalding waterءَانٍheated﴿٤٤﴾

They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree]

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٤٥﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

وَلِمَنْBut for (him) whoخَافَfearsمَقَامَ(the) standingرَبِّهِۦ(before) his Lordجَنَّتَانِ(are) two gardens﴿٤٦﴾

But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٤٧﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

ذَوَاتَآHavingأَفْنَانٍbranches﴿٤٨﴾

Having [spreading] branches

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٤٩﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

فِيهِمَاIn both of themعَيْنَانِ(are) two springsتَجْرِيَانِflowing﴿٥٠﴾

In both of them are two springs, flowing

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٥١﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

فِيهِمَاIn both of themمِن[of]كُلِّ(are) everyفَٰكِهَةٍfruitsزَوْجَانِ(in) pairs﴿٥٢﴾

In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٥٣﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

مُتَّكِـِٔينَRecliningعَلَىٰonفُرُشٍۭcouchesبَطَآئِنُهَا(whose) inner liningsمِنْ(are) ofإِسْتَبْرَقٍbrocadeوَجَنَىand (the) fruitٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ(of) both the gardensدَانٍ(is) near﴿٥٤﴾

[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٥٥﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

فِيهِنَّIn themقَٰصِرَٰتُ(will be) companions of modest gazeٱلطَّرْفِ(will be) companions of modest gazeلَمْnotيَطْمِثْهُنَّhas touched themإِنسٌany manقَبْلَهُمْbefore themوَلَاand notجَآنٌّany jinn﴿٥٦﴾

In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٥٧﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

كَأَنَّهُنَّAs if they wereٱلْيَاقُوتُrubiesوَٱلْمَرْجَانُand coral﴿٥٨﴾

As if they were rubies and coral

فَبِأَىِّSo whichءَالَآءِ(of the) favorsرَبِّكُمَا(of) your Lordتُكَذِّبَانِwill you both deny﴿٥٩﴾

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny

هَلْIsجَزَآءُ(the) rewardٱلْإِحْسَٰنِfor the goodإِلَّاbutٱلْإِحْسَٰنُgood﴿٦٠﴾

Is the reward for good [anything] but good
