37. As-Saffat

فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُSo We gave him the glad tidingsبِغُلَٰمٍof a boyحَلِيمٍforbearing﴿١٠١﴾

So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy

فَلَمَّاThen whenبَلَغَhe reachedمَعَهُthe (age of) working with himٱلسَّعْىَthe (age of) working with himقَالَhe saidيَٰبُنَىَّO my sonإِنِّىٓIndeed, Iأَرَىٰhave seenفِىinٱلْمَنَامِthe dreamأَنِّىٓthat I amأَذْبَحُكَsacrificing youفَٱنظُرْso lookمَاذَاwhatتَرَىٰyou seeقَالَHe saidيَٰٓأَبَتِO my fatherٱفْعَلْDoمَاwhatتُؤْمَرُyou are commandedسَتَجِدُنِىٓYou will find meإِنifشَآءَAllah willsٱللَّهُAllah willsمِنَofٱلصَّٰبِرِينَthe patient ones﴿١٠٢﴾

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast

فَلَمَّآThen whenأَسْلَمَاboth of them had submittedوَتَلَّهُۥand he put him downلِلْجَبِينِupon his forehead﴿١٠٣﴾

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead

وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُAnd We called out to himأَنthatيَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُO Ibrahim﴿١٠٤﴾

We called to him, "O Abraham

قَدْVerilyصَدَّقْتَyou have fulfilledٱلرُّءْيَآthe visionإِنَّاIndeed, Weكَذَٰلِكَthusنَجْزِى[We] rewardٱلْمُحْسِنِينَthe good-doers﴿١٠٥﴾

You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّIndeedهَٰذَاthisلَهُوَ(was) surely [it]ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟the trialٱلْمُبِينُclear﴿١٠٦﴾

Indeed, this was the clear trial

وَفَدَيْنَٰهُAnd We ransomed himبِذِبْحٍwith a sacrificeعَظِيمٍgreat﴿١٠٧﴾

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice

وَتَرَكْنَاAnd We leftعَلَيْهِfor himفِىamongٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later generations﴿١٠٨﴾

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلَٰمٌPeace beعَلَىٰٓonإِبْرَٰهِيمَIbrahim﴿١٠٩﴾

Peace upon Abraham

كَذَٰلِكَThusنَجْزِىWe rewardٱلْمُحْسِنِينَthe good-doers﴿١١٠﴾

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good

إِنَّهُۥIndeed, he (was)مِنْofعِبَادِنَاOur slavesٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَbelieving﴿١١١﴾

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants

وَبَشَّرْنَٰهُAnd We gave him glad tidingsبِإِسْحَٰقَof Isaacنَبِيًّاa Prophetمِّنَamongٱلصَّٰلِحِينَthe righteous﴿١١٢﴾

And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous

وَبَٰرَكْنَاAnd We blessedعَلَيْهِhimوَعَلَىٰٓand [on]إِسْحَٰقَIsaacوَمِنAnd ofذُرِّيَّتِهِمَاtheir offspringمُحْسِنٌ(are) good-doersوَظَالِمٌand unjustلِّنَفْسِهِۦto himselfمُبِينٌclear﴿١١٣﴾

And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself

وَلَقَدْAnd verilyمَنَنَّاWe conferred FavorعَلَىٰuponمُوسَىٰMusaوَهَٰرُونَand Harun﴿١١٤﴾

And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron

وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَاAnd We saved both of themوَقَوْمَهُمَاand their peopleمِنَfromٱلْكَرْبِthe distressٱلْعَظِيمِthe great﴿١١٥﴾

And We saved them and their people from the great affliction

وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْAnd We helped themفَكَانُوا۟so they becameهُمُso they becameٱلْغَٰلِبِينَthe victors﴿١١٦﴾

And We supported them so it was they who overcame

وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَاAnd We gave both of themٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookٱلْمُسْتَبِينَthe clear﴿١١٧﴾

And We gave them the explicit Scripture

وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَاAnd We guided both of themٱلصِّرَٰطَ(to) the Pathٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَthe Straight﴿١١٨﴾

And We guided them on the straight path

وَتَرَكْنَاAnd We leftعَلَيْهِمَاfor both of themفِىamongٱلْءَاخِرِينَthe later generations﴿١١٩﴾

And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations

سَلَٰمٌPeace beعَلَىٰuponمُوسَىٰMusaوَهَٰرُونَand Harun﴿١٢٠﴾

Peace upon Moses and Aaron
