98. Al-Bayyinah

لَمْNotيَكُنِwereٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelievedمِنْfromأَهْلِ(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِof the Bookوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَand the polytheistsمُنفَكِّينَto be abandonedحَتَّىٰuntilتَأْتِيَهُمُ(there) comes to themٱلْبَيِّنَةُthe clear evidence﴿١﴾

Those who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists were not to be parted [from misbelief] until there came to them clear evidence

رَسُولٌA MessengerمِّنَfromٱللَّهِAllahيَتْلُوا۟recitingصُحُفًاpagesمُّطَهَّرَةًpurified﴿٢﴾

A Messenger from Allah, reciting purified scriptures

فِيهَاWhereinكُتُبٌ(are) writingsقَيِّمَةٌcorrect﴿٣﴾

Within which are correct writings

وَمَاAnd notتَفَرَّقَbecame dividedٱلَّذِينَthose whoأُوتُوا۟were givenٱلْكِتَٰبَthe Bookإِلَّاuntilمِنۢfromبَعْدِafterمَاwhatجَآءَتْهُمُcame (to) themٱلْبَيِّنَةُ(of) the clear evidence﴿٤﴾

Nor did those who were given the Scripture become divided until after there had come to them clear evidence

وَمَآAnd notأُمِرُوٓا۟they were commandedإِلَّاexceptلِيَعْبُدُوا۟to worshipٱللَّهَAllahمُخْلِصِينَ(being) sincereلَهُto Himٱلدِّينَ(in) the religionحُنَفَآءَuprightوَيُقِيمُوا۟and to establishٱلصَّلَوٰةَthe prayerوَيُؤْتُوا۟and to giveٱلزَّكَوٰةَthe zakahوَذَٰلِكَAnd thatدِينُ(is the) religionٱلْقَيِّمَةِthe correct﴿٥﴾

And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveمِنْfromأَهْلِ(the) Peopleٱلْكِتَٰبِ(of) the Bookوَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَand the polytheistsفِى(will be) inنَارِ(the) Fireجَهَنَّمَ(of) Hellخَٰلِدِينَabiding eternallyفِيهَآthereinأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThose هُمْtheyشَرُّ(are the) worstٱلْبَرِيَّةِ(of) the creatures﴿٦﴾

Indeed, they who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture and the polytheists will be in the fire of Hell, abiding eternally therein. Those are the worst of creatures

إِنَّIndeedٱلَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُوا۟believeوَعَمِلُوا۟and doٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِrighteous deedsأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthose هُمْtheyخَيْرُ(are the) bestٱلْبَرِيَّةِ(of) the creatures﴿٧﴾

Indeed, they who have believed and done righteous deeds - those are the best of creatures

جَزَآؤُهُمْTheir rewardعِندَ(is) withرَبِّهِمْtheir Lord جَنَّٰتُGardensعَدْنٍ(of) Eternityتَجْرِىflowمِنfromتَحْتِهَاunderneath themٱلْأَنْهَٰرُthe riversخَٰلِدِينَwill abideفِيهَآthereinأَبَدًاforeverرَّضِىَ(will be) pleasedٱللَّهُAllahعَنْهُمْwith themوَرَضُوا۟and they (will be) pleasedعَنْهُwith HimذَٰلِكَThatلِمَنْ(is) for whoeverخَشِىَfearedرَبَّهُۥhis Lord﴿٨﴾

Their reward with Allah will be gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them and they with Him. That is for whoever has feared his Lord
