70. Al-Ma'arij

وَإِذَاAnd whenمَسَّهُtouches himٱلْخَيْرُthe goodمَنُوعًاwithholding﴿٢١﴾

And when good touches him, withholding [of it]

إِلَّاExceptٱلْمُصَلِّينَthose who pray ﴿٢٢﴾

Except the observers of prayer

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoهُمْ[they]عَلَىٰatصَلَاتِهِمْtheir prayerدَآئِمُونَ(are) constant﴿٢٣﴾

Those who are constant in their prayer

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoفِىٓinأَمْوَٰلِهِمْtheir wealthحَقٌّ(is) a rightمَّعْلُومٌknown﴿٢٤﴾

And those within whose wealth is a known right

لِّلسَّآئِلِFor the one who asksوَٱلْمَحْرُومِand the deprived﴿٢٥﴾

For the petitioner and the deprived

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيُصَدِّقُونَaccept (the) truthبِيَوْمِ(of the) Dayٱلدِّينِ(of) the Judgment﴿٢٦﴾

And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُم[they]مِّنْofعَذَابِ(the) punishmentرَبِّهِم(of) their Lordمُّشْفِقُونَ(are) fearful ﴿٢٧﴾

And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord

إِنَّIndeedعَذَابَ(the) punishmentرَبِّهِمْ(of) your Lordغَيْرُ(is) notمَأْمُونٍto be felt secure (of) ﴿٢٨﴾

Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]لِفُرُوجِهِمْtheir modestyحَٰفِظُونَ(are) guardians﴿٢٩﴾

And those who guard their private parts

إِلَّاExceptعَلَىٰٓfromأَزْوَٰجِهِمْtheir spousesأَوْorمَاwhatمَلَكَتْthey possessأَيْمَٰنُهُمْrightfullyفَإِنَّهُمْthen indeed, theyغَيْرُ(are) notمَلُومِينَblameworthy﴿٣٠﴾

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed

فَمَنِBut whoeverٱبْتَغَىٰseeksوَرَآءَbeyondذَٰلِكَthatفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْعَادُونَ(are) the transgressors ﴿٣١﴾

But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْof their trustsوَعَهْدِهِمْand their promiseرَٰعُونَ(are) observers﴿٣٢﴾

And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُم[they]بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْin their testimoniesقَآئِمُونَstand firm﴿٣٣﴾

And those who are in their testimonies upright

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]عَلَىٰonصَلَاتِهِمْtheir prayerيُحَافِظُونَkeep a guard ﴿٣٤﴾

And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseفِى(will be) inجَنَّٰتٍGardensمُّكْرَمُونَhonored﴿٣٥﴾

They will be in gardens, honored

فَمَالِSo what is withٱلَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُوا۟disbelieveقِبَلَكَbefore youمُهْطِعِينَ(they) hasten﴿٣٦﴾

So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad]

عَنِOnٱلْيَمِينِthe rightوَعَنِand onٱلشِّمَالِthe leftعِزِينَ(in) separate groups﴿٣٧﴾

[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups

أَيَطْمَعُDoes longكُلُّeveryٱمْرِئٍpersonمِّنْهُمْamong themأَنthatيُدْخَلَhe entersجَنَّةَa Gardenنَعِيمٍ(of) Delight﴿٣٨﴾

Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure

كَلَّآBy no meansإِنَّاIndeed, Weخَلَقْنَٰهُم[We] have created themمِّمَّاfrom whatيَعْلَمُونَthey know﴿٣٩﴾

No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know

فَلَآBut nayأُقْسِمُI swearبِرَبِّby (the) Lordٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ(of) the risingsوَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِand the settingsإِنَّاthat Weلَقَٰدِرُونَ(are) surely Able﴿٤٠﴾

So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able
