52. At-Tur

وَٱلطُّورِBy the Mount﴿١﴾

By the mount

وَكِتَٰبٍAnd by (the) Bookمَّسْطُورٍwritten﴿٢﴾

And [by] a Book inscribed

فِىInرَقٍّparchmentمَّنشُورٍunrolled﴿٣﴾

In parchment spread open

وَٱلْبَيْتِBy the Houseٱلْمَعْمُورِfrequented﴿٤﴾

And [by] the frequented House

وَٱلسَّقْفِBy the roofٱلْمَرْفُوعِraised high﴿٥﴾

And [by] the heaven raised high

وَٱلْبَحْرِBy the seaٱلْمَسْجُورِfilled﴿٦﴾

And [by] the sea filled [with fire]

إِنَّIndeedعَذَابَ(the) punishmentرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordلَوَٰقِعٌ(will) surely occur﴿٧﴾

Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur

مَّاNotلَهُۥfor itمِنanyدَافِعٍpreventer﴿٨﴾

Of it there is no preventer

يَوْمَ(On the) Dayتَمُورُwill shakeٱلسَّمَآءُthe heavenمَوْرًا(with violent) shake﴿٩﴾

On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion

وَتَسِيرُAnd will move awayٱلْجِبَالُthe mountainsسَيْرًا(with an awful) movement﴿١٠﴾

And the mountains will pass on, departing

فَوَيْلٌThen woeيَوْمَئِذٍthat Dayلِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَto the deniers﴿١١﴾

Then woe, that Day, to the deniers

ٱلَّذِينَWhoهُمْ[they]فِىinخَوْضٍ(vain) discourseيَلْعَبُونَare playing﴿١٢﴾

Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves

يَوْمَ(The) Dayيُدَعُّونَthey will be thrustإِلَىٰ(in)toنَارِ(the) Fireجَهَنَّمَ(of) Hellدَعًّا(with) a thrust﴿١٣﴾

The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say]

هَٰذِهِThisٱلنَّارُ(is) the Fireٱلَّتِىwhichكُنتُمyou used toبِهَا[of it]تُكَذِّبُونَdeny﴿١٤﴾

This is the Fire which you used to deny

أَفَسِحْرٌThen is this magicهَٰذَآThen is this magicأَمْorأَنتُمْyouلَا(do) notتُبْصِرُونَsee﴿١٥﴾

Then is this magic, or do you not see

ٱصْلَوْهَاBurn in itفَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟then be patientأَوْorلَا(do) notتَصْبِرُوا۟be patientسَوَآءٌ(it is) sameعَلَيْكُمْfor youإِنَّمَاOnlyتُجْزَوْنَyou are being recompensedمَا(for) whatكُنتُمْyou used toتَعْمَلُونَdo﴿١٦﴾

[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do

إِنَّIndeedٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousفِى(will be) inجَنَّٰتٍGardensوَنَعِيمٍand pleasure﴿١٧﴾

Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure

فَٰكِهِينَEnjoyingبِمَآin whatءَاتَىٰهُمْhas given themرَبُّهُمْtheir Lordوَوَقَىٰهُمْand protected themرَبُّهُمْtheir Lordعَذَابَ(from the) punishmentٱلْجَحِيمِ(of) Hellfire﴿١٨﴾

Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire

كُلُوا۟Eatوَٱشْرَبُوا۟and drinkهَنِيٓـًٔۢا(in) satisfactionبِمَاfor whatكُنتُمْyou used toتَعْمَلُونَdo﴿١٩﴾

[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do

مُتَّكِـِٔينَRecliningعَلَىٰonسُرُرٍthronesمَّصْفُوفَةٍlined upوَزَوَّجْنَٰهُمand We will marry themبِحُورٍto fair onesعِينٍ(with) large eyes﴿٢٠﴾

They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes
