25. Al-Furqan

تَبَارَكَBlessed is HeٱلَّذِىWhoجَعَلَhas placedفِىinٱلسَّمَآءِthe skiesبُرُوجًاconstellationsوَجَعَلَand has placedفِيهَاthereinسِرَٰجًاa lampوَقَمَرًاand a moonمُّنِيرًاshining﴿٦١﴾

Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon

وَهُوَAnd Heٱلَّذِى(is) the One Whoجَعَلَmadeٱلَّيْلَthe nightوَٱلنَّهَارَand the dayخِلْفَةً(in) successionلِّمَنْfor whoeverأَرَادَdesiresأَنtoيَذَّكَّرَrememberأَوْorأَرَادَdesiresشُكُورًاto be thankful﴿٦٢﴾

And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude

وَعِبَادُAnd (the) slavesٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ(of) the Most Graciousٱلَّذِينَ(are) those whoيَمْشُونَwalkعَلَىonٱلْأَرْضِthe earthهَوْنًا(in) humblenessوَإِذَاand whenخَاطَبَهُمُaddress themٱلْجَٰهِلُونَthe ignorant onesقَالُوا۟they sayسَلَٰمًاPeace﴿٦٣﴾

And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَبِيتُونَspend (the) nightلِرَبِّهِمْbefore their Lordسُجَّدًاprostratingوَقِيَٰمًاand standing﴿٦٤﴾

And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَاOur LordٱصْرِفْAvertعَنَّاfrom usعَذَابَthe punishmentجَهَنَّمَ(of) HellإِنَّIndeedعَذَابَهَاits punishmentكَانَisغَرَامًاinseparable﴿٦٥﴾

And those who say, "Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering

إِنَّهَاIndeed, itسَآءَتْ(is) an evilمُسْتَقَرًّاabodeوَمُقَامًاand resting place﴿٦٦﴾

Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoإِذَآwhenأَنفَقُوا۟they spendلَمْ(are) not extravagantيُسْرِفُوا۟(are) not extravagantوَلَمْand are not stingyيَقْتُرُوا۟and are not stingyوَكَانَbut areبَيْنَbetweenذَٰلِكَthat قَوَامًاmoderate﴿٦٧﴾

And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَدْعُونَinvokeمَعَwithٱللَّهِAllahإِلَٰهًاgodءَاخَرَanotherوَلَاand (do) notيَقْتُلُونَ[they] killٱلنَّفْسَthe soulٱلَّتِىwhichحَرَّمَAllah has forbiddenٱللَّهُAllah has forbiddenإِلَّاexceptبِٱلْحَقِّby rightوَلَاand (do) notيَزْنُونَcommit unlawful sexual intercourseوَمَنAnd whoeverيَفْعَلْdoesذَٰلِكَthatيَلْقَwill meetأَثَامًاa penalty﴿٦٨﴾

And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty

يُضَٰعَفْWill be doubledلَهُfor himٱلْعَذَابُthe punishmentيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) Resurrectionوَيَخْلُدْand he will abide foreverفِيهِۦthereinمُهَانًاhumiliated﴿٦٩﴾

Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated

إِلَّاExceptمَن(he) whoتَابَrepentsوَءَامَنَand believesوَعَمِلَand doesعَمَلًاrighteous deedsصَٰلِحًاrighteous deedsفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen (for) thoseيُبَدِّلُAllah will replaceٱللَّهُAllah will replaceسَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْtheir evil deedsحَسَنَٰتٍ(with) good onesوَكَانَAnd isٱللَّهُAllahغَفُورًاOft-ForgivingرَّحِيمًاMost Merciful﴿٧٠﴾

Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful

وَمَنAnd whoeverتَابَrepentsوَعَمِلَand doesصَٰلِحًاrighteous (deeds)فَإِنَّهُۥthen indeed, heيَتُوبُturnsإِلَىtoٱللَّهِAllahمَتَابًا(with) repentance﴿٧١﴾

And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoلَا(do) notيَشْهَدُونَbear witnessٱلزُّورَ(to) the falsehoodوَإِذَاand whenمَرُّوا۟they passبِٱللَّغْوِby futilityمَرُّوا۟they passكِرَامًا(as) dignified ones﴿٧٢﴾

And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoإِذَاwhenذُكِّرُوا۟they are remindedبِـَٔايَٰتِof (the) Versesرَبِّهِمْ(of) their Lordلَمْ(do) notيَخِرُّوا۟fallعَلَيْهَاupon themصُمًّاdeafوَعُمْيَانًاand blind﴿٧٣﴾

And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoيَقُولُونَsayرَبَّنَاOur LordهَبْGrantلَنَاto usمِنْfromأَزْوَٰجِنَاour spousesوَذُرِّيَّٰتِنَاand our offspringقُرَّةَcomfortأَعْيُنٍ(to) our eyesوَٱجْعَلْنَاand make usلِلْمُتَّقِينَfor the righteousإِمَامًاa leader﴿٧٤﴾

And those who say, "Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseيُجْزَوْنَwill be awardedٱلْغُرْفَةَthe Chamberبِمَاbecauseصَبَرُوا۟they were patientوَيُلَقَّوْنَand they will be metفِيهَاthereinتَحِيَّةً(with) greetingsوَسَلَٰمًاand peace﴿٧٥﴾

Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace

خَٰلِدِينَWill abide foreverفِيهَاin itحَسُنَتْGoodمُسْتَقَرًّا(is) the settlementوَمُقَامًاand a resting place﴿٧٦﴾

Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence

قُلْSayمَاNotيَعْبَؤُا۟will careبِكُمْfor youرَبِّىmy Lordلَوْلَاif notدُعَآؤُكُمْyour prayer (is to Him)فَقَدْBut verilyكَذَّبْتُمْyou have deniedفَسَوْفَso soonيَكُونُwill beلِزَامًۢاthe inevitable (punishment)﴿٧٧﴾

Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent
