69. Al-Haqqah

وَمَاAnd notهُوَitبِقَوْلِ(is the) wordشَاعِرٍ(of) a poetقَلِيلًاlittleمَّا(is) whatتُؤْمِنُونَyou believe﴿٤١﴾

And it is not the word of a poet; little do you believe

وَلَاAnd notبِقَوْلِ(it is the) wordكَاهِنٍ(of) a soothsayerقَلِيلًاlittleمَّا(is) whatتَذَكَّرُونَyou take heed﴿٤٢﴾

Nor the word of a soothsayer; little do you remember

تَنزِيلٌ(It is) a revelationمِّنfromرَّبِّ(the) Lordٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ(of) the worlds﴿٤٣﴾

[It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds

وَلَوْAnd ifتَقَوَّلَhe (had) fabricatedعَلَيْنَاagainst Usبَعْضَsomeٱلْأَقَاوِيلِsayings﴿٤٤﴾

And if Muhammad had made up about Us some [false] sayings

لَأَخَذْنَاCertainly We (would) have seizedمِنْهُhimبِٱلْيَمِينِby the right hand﴿٤٥﴾

We would have seized him by the right hand

ثُمَّThenلَقَطَعْنَاcertainly We (would) have cut offمِنْهُfrom himٱلْوَتِينَthe aorta﴿٤٦﴾

Then We would have cut from him the aorta

فَمَاAnd notمِنكُمfrom youمِّنْanyأَحَدٍoneعَنْهُ[from him]حَٰجِزِينَ(who could) prevent (it)﴿٤٧﴾

And there is no one of you who could prevent [Us] from him

وَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, itلَتَذْكِرَةٌ(is) surely a reminderلِّلْمُتَّقِينَfor the Allah-fearing﴿٤٨﴾

And indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder for the righteous

وَإِنَّاAnd indeed, Weلَنَعْلَمُsurely knowأَنَّthatمِنكُمamong youمُّكَذِّبِينَ(are) deniers﴿٤٩﴾

And indeed, We know that among you are deniers

وَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, itلَحَسْرَةٌ(is) surely a regretعَلَىuponٱلْكَٰفِرِينَthe disbelievers﴿٥٠﴾

And indeed, it will be [a cause of] regret upon the disbelievers

وَإِنَّهُۥAnd indeed, it (is)لَحَقُّsurely (the) truthٱلْيَقِينِ(of) certainty﴿٥١﴾

And indeed, it is the truth of certainty

فَسَبِّحْSo glorifyبِٱسْمِ(the) nameرَبِّكَ(of) your Lordٱلْعَظِيمِthe Most Great﴿٥٢﴾

So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great
