23. Al-Mu'minun

قَدْIndeedأَفْلَحَsuccessfulٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ(are) the believers﴿١﴾

Certainly will the believers have succeeded

ٱلَّذِينَThose whoهُمْ[they]فِىduringصَلَاتِهِمْtheir prayersخَٰشِعُونَ(are) humbly submissive﴿٢﴾

They who are during their prayer humbly submissive

وَٱلَّذِينَThose whoهُمْ[they]عَنِfromٱللَّغْوِthe vain talkمُعْرِضُونَturn away﴿٣﴾

And they who turn away from ill speech

وَٱلَّذِينَThose whoهُمْ[they]لِلزَّكَوٰةِof purification worksفَٰعِلُونَ(are) doers﴿٤﴾

And they who are observant of zakah

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]لِفُرُوجِهِمْof their modestyحَٰفِظُونَ(are) guardians﴿٥﴾

And they who guard their private parts

إِلَّاExceptعَلَىٰٓfromأَزْوَٰجِهِمْtheir spousesأَوْorمَاwhatمَلَكَتْpossessأَيْمَٰنُهُمْtheir right handsفَإِنَّهُمْthen indeed, theyغَيْرُ(are) notمَلُومِينَblameworthy﴿٦﴾

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed

فَمَنِThen whoeverٱبْتَغَىٰseeksوَرَآءَbeyondذَٰلِكَthatفَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَthen thoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْعَادُونَ(are) the transgressors﴿٧﴾

But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْof their trustsوَعَهْدِهِمْand their promise(s)رَٰعُونَ(are) observers﴿٨﴾

And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive

وَٱلَّذِينَAnd those whoهُمْ[they]عَلَىٰoverصَلَوَٰتِهِمْtheir prayersيُحَافِظُونَthey guard﴿٩﴾

And they who carefully maintain their prayers

أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَThoseهُمُ[they]ٱلْوَٰرِثُونَ(are) the inheritors﴿١٠﴾

Those are the inheritors

ٱلَّذِينَWhoيَرِثُونَwill inheritٱلْفِرْدَوْسَthe ParadiseهُمْTheyفِيهَاthereinخَٰلِدُونَ(will) abide forever﴿١١﴾

Who will inherit al-Firdaus. They will abide therein eternally

وَلَقَدْAnd indeedخَلَقْنَاWe createdٱلْإِنسَٰنَthe humankindمِنfromسُلَٰلَةٍan essenceمِّنofطِينٍclay﴿١٢﴾

And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay

ثُمَّThenجَعَلْنَٰهُWe placed himنُطْفَةً(as) a semen-dropفِىinقَرَارٍa resting placeمَّكِينٍfirm﴿١٣﴾

Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging

ثُمَّThenخَلَقْنَاWe createdٱلنُّطْفَةَthe semen-dropعَلَقَةً(into) a clinging substanceفَخَلَقْنَاthen We createdٱلْعَلَقَةَthe clinging substanceمُضْغَةً(into) an embryonic lumpفَخَلَقْنَاthen We createdٱلْمُضْغَةَthe embryonic lumpعِظَٰمًا(into) bonesفَكَسَوْنَاthen We clothedٱلْعِظَٰمَthe bonesلَحْمًا(with) fleshثُمَّthenأَنشَأْنَٰهُWe produce itخَلْقًا(as) a creationءَاخَرَanotherفَتَبَارَكَSo blessed isٱللَّهُAllahأَحْسَنُ(the) Bestٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ(of) the Creators﴿١٤﴾

Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators

ثُمَّThenإِنَّكُمindeed, youبَعْدَafterذَٰلِكَthatلَمَيِّتُونَsurely (will) die﴿١٥﴾

Then indeed, after that you are to die

ثُمَّThenإِنَّكُمْindeed, youيَوْمَ(on the) Dayٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ(of) the Resurrectionتُبْعَثُونَwill be resurrected﴿١٦﴾

Then indeed you, on the Day of Resurrection, will be resurrected

وَلَقَدْAnd indeedخَلَقْنَاWe (have) createdفَوْقَكُمْabove youسَبْعَsevenطَرَآئِقَpathsوَمَاand notكُنَّاWe areعَنِofٱلْخَلْقِthe creationغَٰفِلِينَunaware﴿١٧﴾

And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware

وَأَنزَلْنَاAnd We send downمِنَfromٱلسَّمَآءِthe skyمَآءًۢwaterبِقَدَرٍin (due) measureفَأَسْكَنَّٰهُthen We cause it to settleفِىinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthوَإِنَّاAnd indeed, Weعَلَىٰonذَهَابٍۭtaking it awayبِهِۦtaking it awayلَقَٰدِرُونَsurely (are) Able﴿١٨﴾

And We have sent down rain from the sky in a measured amount and settled it in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away

فَأَنشَأْنَاThen We producedلَكُمfor youبِهِۦby itجَنَّٰتٍgardensمِّنof date-palmsنَّخِيلٍof date-palmsوَأَعْنَٰبٍand grapevinesلَّكُمْfor youفِيهَاin itفَوَٰكِهُ(are) fruitsكَثِيرَةٌabundantوَمِنْهَاand from themتَأْكُلُونَyou eat﴿١٩﴾

And We brought forth for you thereby gardens of palm trees and grapevines in which for you are abundant fruits and from which you eat

وَشَجَرَةًAnd a treeتَخْرُجُ(that) springs forthمِنfromطُورِMount SinaiسَيْنَآءَMount Sinaiتَنۢبُتُ(which) producesبِٱلدُّهْنِoilوَصِبْغٍand a relishلِّلْءَاكِلِينَfor those who eat﴿٢٠﴾

And [We brought forth] a tree issuing from Mount Sinai which produces oil and food for those who eat
